About MA Chapter
Established in the academic year 2021-22, the Material Advantage Student Chapter at
Cummins College of Engineering for Women, Nagpur provides student members with a
platform to enhance their materials engineering skills, build a professional network,
and prepare for a successful career. Chapters foster local communities where students
can develop leadership, engage socially, and improve their technical abilities through
collaboration and presentations. Student members get membership of 4 professional
societies viz American Ceramic Society (ACerS), Association of Iron and Stell (AIST),
American Society of Materials International (ASM) and The Metals, Minerals and Materials
Society (TMS).
1. Career Preparation:
- Networking: Chapter provides opportunities to connect with other students and professionals in the field, potentially leading to internships, mentorship, and future career connections.
- Skill Development: Through chapter activities, students can sharpen their technical skills, communication abilities, and leadership qualities, all of which are valuable in the job market.
