FDP-English Communication skills


The faculty development programme for Teaching and non teaching staff on Improvement in English Communication was organised from 24th to 27th Apr. 2017 under the guidance of Prof. Rashmi Deshpande, Assistant Professor, Allied science Dept. The FDP aimed at understanding different techniques to improve English communication through different pronounciation techniques. It also aimed at equipping the faculty members with the ability to understand the effective strategies to improve the interactive communication and learn essential English grammar lessons.

The session was conducted in very interactive manner with the use of exercises and practices. The faculty members took active participation in the program. Total 45 teaching and nonteaching faculties had attended the workshop.

First year project summary


Even though projects are not included in the syllabus of BE first year of RTMNU, we at Cummins College conduct this activity for first year students to get them acquainted with basics of their respective branches. Students from EnTC, CE and Mechanical branches have done the mini projects linking various subjects of first year with their branches. Students from CE branch have design and written programs using C-language to solve various mathematical equations, to verify laws of physics or to check the chemical reactions and tax calculation. Some of the students have design google sheet for the survey of English knowledge of the students.

Electronics students have design various electronics circuits on PCB’s and studied their working like monostable multivibrator, solar battery charger, solar emergency lamps, water level detector etc. Mechanical students have studied working of machines which are available in labs and calculated various parameters. Few students have design a layout for compound wall for ccoew campus and parking shed, calculated material required and total expenditure appoxiamately.

To know the actual work done and requirement of the companies, few students have visited “Hightech Resister” and “Epsilon cables limited” situated in MIDC Hingna. Some have worked on social aspects like solution on parking problems


Briefs of ‘One Week Orientation’ Programme


Department of Allied Science organized “Parigrah – The Induction Programme of New Entrant” followed by ‘One Week Orientation Programme’. In the orientation programme, students were introduced to the basics of the subjects like Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry and Mechanics. The experts from education field and industries enlightened students with their lectures on some interesting topics. Mrs. Aruna Shobhane throws light on life of the great mathematican Ramanujan. Dr. Leela Gahane spoke on the topic ‘Professional Ethics’. Mr. Zilpelwar motivated the students with his inspiring words.

“Parigrah- The beginning”


Cummins College of Engineering for Women organized “Parigrah – The Induction Programme of First Year students” recently. In this week long program the institute grooms its new comer students to get prepared for their Four year transformation not only as professionals but as good citizens of India. In the welcome program held on 1st August, the motivational speaker Dr. Raja Akash was the chief guest and the function was presided over by Mr. Milind ji Kukde, Chairman of MKSSS, Nagpur Prakalpa. Dr. Raja Akash boosted the confidence in the students. He covered lots of aspects that would help the students to achieve good marks in studies and live a better life. Dr. Bhushan Joshi, Principal, Cummins College of Engineering for Women advised students to make such choices in career which will lead them to the bright future. He emphasized the role of proper planning in career building. Mr. Milind Kukde, Chairman, MKSSS, Nagpur Project, ensured the parents about the safety, security and overall development of the students. MKSSS is the not for profit institution and is working for the aim of women empowerment through education. Once again, Mr. Kukde presented this motto of the Samstha and assured to parents and students that Samstha will take all the efforts for the better education and better placement, better facility and better future of the students. Prof. Rashi Deshpande anchored the program. Prof. Sneha Uttarwar proposed vote of thanks.
